HotSeat Motorsport Rally Team
The HotSeat Motorsport Rally team has expanded its presence in the 2006
British Rally Championship, as
this year the team will be running two cars. Regular driver Kate Heath will be
returning to the four-wheel drive production category, now called "R4", in the Subaru Impreza
that took her to fifth place in 2004 and fourth place in the 2005 championships. She's hoping for
better this year, in what promises to be an ultra-competive season as production
category machinery and Super-1600 two-wheel drive cars will be vieing for outright wins
now that World Rally Cars are no longer eligible for the British Rally Championship.
The addition of the Mitsubishi Evo Challenge to 2006 BRC means that this promises to be
one of the most exciting seasons' rallying in recent years.
Kate will be joined in the Hotseat team by newcomer Glenda Boyle. The 21-year-old student
from Derry, Northern Ireland, won her drive in the Women
in the HotSeat Rally Challenge. Kate set up this competition in 2005 to give one talented female
driver the best possible start in the exciting sport of rallying. Glenda won after three
rounds of tough selection and now will be competing in the Stars of the Future series in a
Peugeot 106, which is hers to keep and kick-start her rallying career. The competiton is
running again in 2006, so if you fancy following in Glenda's footsteps, click here!
Now in their fifth year of competition in the BRC, HotSeat Motorsport has become an established
fixture of the championship, achieving a considerable amount of exposure despite its small
budget. They are the only team that has competed in every BRC rally over the last four
years. As well as their own highly skilled service crew they will again be relying on
the technical expertise and backup of Langworth Motorsport,
who will do all they can to ensure that HotSeat Motorsport's reputation for reliability and affordability is maintained.
